Our goal is to help our community and put an end to the pet overpopulation crisis! If financial constraints are preventing you from being able to spay/neuter your pet, we may be able to help! The Humane Society of Davidson County offers financial assistance to certain individuals who qualify. If you qualify for government assistance (food stamps, Medicaid, social security disability, etc) or you are experiencing financial hardship then you may be eligible.
YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION TO VERIFY YOUR PROOF OF INCOME AND/OR ELIGIBILITY FOR GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE.
If you qualify for our assistance, you have two options:
OPTION #1 Use our TRANSPORT SERVICE:
You can receive a reduced fee through our transport service to Humane Society of the Piedmont. You can qualify for one of two programs.
A) STATE PROGRAM: HSDC is a recipient of a state program which receives funding through the purchase of vehicular vanity license plates. With the proper documentation, you may be eligible for the state program and we may be able to reduce your spay/neuter fee to $30 per animal, regardless of sex or size. B) VOUCHER FOR TRANSPORT: If you do NOT qualify for the state program, you may still be eligible for a $50 VOUCHER towards the cost of your pet's surgery at Humane Society of the Piedmont, where surgical costs are already minimal.
OPTION #2 Use a VOUCHER at a local Veterinarian:
You can receive a $50 voucher per animal for use at any of our participating Veterinary Offices if you qualify for financial assistance. These are like gift cards to use towards your pet's spay or neuter surgery. Please understand that the Veterinary Office dictates the cost of the surgery, and that HSDC will ONLY cover $50 of the total cost. Often, even with our voucher, surgery costs exceed $200, so please be prepared to cover the remaining bill.
Our participating Veterinarians include:
Humane Society of the Piedmont (Greensboro)
Arcadia Veterinary Hospital
Davidson Animal Hospital
Denton Animal Hospital
Central Spay/Neuter Clinic
Hickory Tree Veterinary
Jordan Veterinary Hospital
Midway Animal Clinic
North Davidson Veterinary Hospital
Thomasville Veterinary Hospital
